The article gives an overview of the conference Research information systems in the EU - Standardization and Compatibility held in Bratislava at the end of April 2009. Topics of conference covered European format CERIF, Czech system of research and development and its evaluation, structure and functions of Hungarian system HunCRIS, detailed structure of Czech system ISVaV and its microdata and finally system of organization of system of research and development in Slovac Republic and its future.

The field of Czech geography does not have a comprehensive bibliography. Only a limited printing of fragmentary printed geographical bibliographies exists. The objective will be to create and to make a Czech Republic 20th century digital geographical bibliography accessible. The database contains 105 600 bibliographic records for now and is evergrowing.

The article is a short overview of news and development of the tools and databases produced by Thomson Reuters. It introduces a new analytical tool for journals JADE and informs about enhancements in the Web of Science in Journal Citation Reports as an establishing of five-year Impact Factor or a new metric Eigenfactor. The article summarizes the analytical tools and its reports for the research assessment and mentions two new portals ResearchersID and InCites.

The article presents Bibliography of articles from school annual reports from Slovakia from 1918/19 to 1952/53, a bibliographic database produced by the University Library in Bratislava, and also focuses on its subbase Biographies in annual school reports from 1918 to 1953.

Central European Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities (CEJSH) is a bibliographic database of articles. The database is produced by the Academies of Sciences of the countries which falls into Visegrad group (Czech, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia). CEJSH publishes English abstracts of articles and reviews, which appeared mostly in national languages in the Czech, Hungarian, Polish and Slovak scientific journals devoted to social sciences and humanities.

The article summarizes information concerning new project in the grey literature domain called „OpenSIGLE (database)“. The project is lead by the French Institute for Scientific and Technical Information experts in cooperation with other experts from former EAGLE member institutions. Both information, from published materials and online and free accessible database OpenSIGLE (still prototype but soon real full database version) are used in this article. Individual parts are devoted to reasons of former SIGLE system and the EAGLE association liquidation, to former MetaGrey Europe project, and mainly to OpenSIGLE database (software selection, metadata conversion and searching capabilities). Evaluative notes to current version of database prototype are added too.
